Like its predecessors, the Xiaomi Mi 9 offers performance close to the high end but at a much lower price compared to the competition. AMOLED slab of 6.39 inches resolution 1080 x 2280 pixels, 19: 9 ratio with enhanced protection Gorilla Glass 6, Snapdragon 855, Internal memory is 128 or 256 GB of storage depending on the version as the RAM memory is declined in three variants: 6/8/12 GB LPDDR4X.
The 3,300 mAh battery, compatible with the Turbo Power wireless charge at 20 W which ensures a complete recharge in a record time of 1:45 but also the wired fast recharge in 27 W which allows a complete recharge from 0 to 100% in one hour only. A smartphone with a technical sheet really attractive in view of the tariff. An excellent alternative for anyone who wants to afford a smartphone with the latest components and new features without breaking the bank, around 450 €.
With its SoC Kirin 980, a 7nm processor, the Mate 20 is one of the most powerful smartphonesof the year. The flagship also achieves real feats in the field of photography, thanks to its triple rear photo sensor. The Mate 20 is offered at 499 €.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3: borderless on 4 sides and always ingenious
Following the evolution of the Xiaomi Mi Mix is always a pleasure: the Mi Mix 3 goes borderless on all three sides to make room for a beautiful screen smartphone without notch. Its photo sensors, already quite good on the 2S are now housed in a mechanical drawer. A new clever trick for a brand that was expected no less.
Particularly complete, thanks to the addition of wireless charging QI and accounting with all 4G frequencies, the smartphone disappoints by the disappearance of the jack. Sold at a starting price of € 419, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 stands out as an excellent high-end device.
The Galaxy A8 is Samsung’sfirst midrange smartphone to be equipped with an Infinity Display very similar to the Galaxy S8, despite more prominent borders. The goal of Samsung with this new terminal, priced from € 499, is to offer the latest innovations of the brand at a price more reasonable than the high end.
For the price of a mid-range terminal, you will enjoy many features worthy of a premium model. We particularly appreciate its dual frontal photo sensor, which will delight lovers of selfies, and its beautiful AMOLED display. Very different from the previous models in the A range, the Galaxy A8 is indeed much more Galaxy S8 than the Galaxy A5 of 2017. If your budget is limited but you still want to enjoy the best of the Korean brand, we advise you this Galaxy A8 (2018) despite its small defects, typical of a mid-range device.
We discovered the Sony XZ3 at IFA 2018 in Berlin. Announced just 6 months after the XZ2 and XZ2 Compact, this refined smartphone clearly sets the bar higher. Its OLED display enhances the new, more rounded and symmetrical design introduced by Sony. His colors with light trap are unique in the industry. We do not talk to you about its technical sheet among the best, and features well thought of its overlay.
The smartphoneis equipped with a 6.4 inch IPS LCD screen with FHD + 2310 x 1080 pixel resolution (398 dpi). The slab offers a ratio of 19.25: 9 and a body-to-screen ratio of 85.7%, bringing it closer to borderless. We have of course the SoC Kirin 980 engraved in 7nm already present on the Huawei Mate 20.
It is coupled with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage space (expandable via microSD) depending on the variant. There is also a battery of 4000 mAh with 22.5w fast charging technology. The Turbo 2.0 GPU is in the game, as is the Nine cooling system to ensure great performance in game without the mobile too hot.
Elegant, modern and astonishing performance and swift, the Nokia 7 Plusstands out especially thanks to its Android One interface, and its double photo sensor signed Carl Zeiss. It is simply one of the best photophones in this market segment: his portraits are stunning, his performances in low light are surprising and his rendering of colors is particularly realistic.
The Finnish smartphone is also amazing thanks to its excellent autonomy of a day and a half in heavy use, and its 6-inch IPS LCD screen in 18: 9 format. Very bright, the screen flatters our retinas. The icing on the cake: it is part of the Android One program that keeps track of updates for two years. Offered from € 399, the Nokia 7 Plus represents the best of the brand.
LG’s latest addition, the LG G7 ThinQ gives pride of place to artificial intelligence. True LG V30S ThinQ enhanced, the terminal is equipped with a physical button dedicated to the Google Assistant and improved filters to make your photos successful. Like the P20, the G7 will assist you in taking your photos and adapt its options and settings according to the subject you are about to capture!
Bright and intelligent, the smartphone also shines thanks to its MLCD + screen of 6.1 inches. Despite its notch, the screen of the G7 is very pleasant to use in everyday life. We will also appreciate its audio performance, worthy of the reputation of the brand. Performance side, the beast does not demerit thanks to the velocity of SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and 6GB of RAM.
The OnePlus 6Tdoes not bring a lot of new features compared to the OnePlus 6 , it’s up to you to see if the price difference is worth it or not. We love its all-glass design and its large AMOLED display with this minimalist drop-shaped notch.
In the negative, no IP68 certification or microSD slot or audio jack. The speakers are certainly less efficient than the higher-end more expensive. Photo side, we can nevertheless speak of real good forward especially in low light conditions. As always the price-quality ratio is very good.
