Galaxy Tab S6 5G: Samsung launches the first 5G tablet on the market

Samsung announces the launch of the Galaxy Tab S6 5G. The company will market this tablet, the first to offer compatibility with 5G networks, first in South Korea. It is not yet known if and when Samsung will offer the Tab S6 5G in other markets.

Samsung has decided to launch a 5G version of the Galaxy Tab S6 that we tested a few months ago. The tablet, in 10.5 ″ formats, has a huge AMOLED screen in 16:10 format, all with a regular border and visually pleasing curves. The machine runs on Snapdragon 855 with 6/8 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of internal storage depending on the versions (expandable via microSD up to 1 TB). All with a huge 7040 mAh battery. On the photo side, the Tab S6 offers an 8 Mpx selfie sensor and a double main 13 + 5 Mpx photosensor.

Exclusive to South Korea for now

The 5G version has a data sheet otherwise strictly identical to the versions of the Tab S6 WiFi and 4G-LTE that we have known up to now. However, it only exists in the Mountain Gray color for now. For the time being, this variant of the Tab S6 is exclusive to South Korea, one of the pioneer countries in 5G technology. The tablet is available there the equivalent of around 850 € for the 128 GB version. This does not seem very far from the 879 € requested for the Galaxy Tab S6 4G-LTE… with 256 GB of storage.

Samsung has only written a press release in Korean in which there is no question of launching internationally. However, we can hope that Samsung will take advantage of the launch in France and in a handful of other countries of 5G networks to offer this variant in more markets.
