The Nintendo Switch will be entitled to a new SoC and change storage

The original Nintendo Switch released in March 2017 will be entitled to some new components. The group has applied for certification for its hybrid console, with the program an improved version of Nvidia Tegra X1 SoC and changes in the Nand memory, ie storage.

While Nintendo has formalized its Switch Lite , the group also plans a hardware update of its original hybrid console, released in March 2017. As reported TechRadar, Nintendo has filed an application for authorization with the Federal Communications Commission ( FCC) in the United States in order to validate this new hardware by the authorities and commercialize the new product.

Nintendo Switch: a hardware update arrives

Nintendo does not need to go through the certification system from A to Z because it is a minor change. In particular, mention is made of a modification of the SoC. As a reminder, the Switch is equipped with an Nvidia Tegra X1. It is not surprising that the console will soon have an improved version of the system-on-chip foundry: several reports already evoked a new Tegra X1 for Nvidia Shield. The document filed with the FCC thus directly confirms that a new version of Nvidia Shield TV is being prepared.

Nintendo also says that it wants to make a change in NAND memory, so make changes to storage. For now, we do not really know for what purpose. The hypothesis of a larger internal memory can not be excluded.
