For now, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is available for pre-order from a small handful of online merchants. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is available in two colors: Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze. The price of the new foldable smartphone from the Korean manufacturer is very salty since it is available from € 2,020. What are the differences between Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 2?
While the first Fold of the name had a 4.58-inch external screen, the Z Fold 2 makes room for a much larger screen that is more practical to use on a daily basis. We are now on a 6.2-inch diagonal offering all the necessary comfort for one-handed use. Unfolded, it offers a 7.6-inch screen, a bit larger than that of the 7.3-inch Fold. Its refresh rate is 120 Hz.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is content with 256 GB of storage (UFS 3.1), the first Fold offers 512 GB (UFS 3.0) as a base. In the same vein, the manufacturer is relying on 5 photo sensors instead of 6 and no longer includes Galaxy Buds wireless headphones in the box.
The hinge has also been redesigned: it is housed behind the Samsung logo on the back of the smartphone. This so-called “free-position” hinge is designed so that the user can fold and unfold the smartphone gently and according to his wishes.
Finally, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is compatible with 25W wired fast charging, 11W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging while the Fold only supported 15W in wired and wireless and 9W in reverse wireless.
