Intel prices and features of 10th generation CPUs would have leaked

Intel prices and features of 10th generation CPUs would no longer be a mystery. The characteristics and prices would have leaked before their official announcement. Be careful though, some technical information seems strange, just like the prices here advanced. 

A tabular document showing all the new Intel 10th generation CPU models, so-called “Comet Lake” and their prices and specifications would have leaked. The German media Computerbase published it after getting their hands on a Chinese forum. The source is more than uncertain, let’s see what we learn and if the data provided here seem legitimate.

On the high end, we find the i9-10800F, 10900K and 10900KF , which would be respectively marketed at 409, 449 and 499 dollars. 10 cores and 20 threads, 20 Mb cache and a CPU clocked up to 3.4 GHz (5.2 GHz Turbo Boost) program.

The i7-10700 and 10700K , supposedly sold for $ 339 and $ 389, would offer 8 cores and 16 threads, 16 MB of cache, and frequencies up to 3.6 Ghz for the “K” version, 5.1 GHz in turbo mode.

Then there are the i5-10400, 10500, 10600 and 10600K , with 6 cores, 12 threads and 12 MB of cache, with a frequency of 3.7 GHz for the last city, 4.9 GHz in turbo.

We end with the i3-10100, 10300, 10320 and 10350K, which are the entry level of this new generation of CPU. On the menu: 4 cores and 8 threads, 7 MB cache for the first city and 9 MB for others, and 3.7 to 4.1 GHz frequency (4.4 GHz to 4.8 GHz turbo).

All this seems rather strange in many ways. First, Intel does not communicate in principle more about the clock speed of hearts, which is the case here. Same on the finesse of the engravings. We do not know what is 14 +++ nm. Then, several features of the data sheets challenge. In particular, there seems to be some errors on the TDP (thermal envelope). One can also have queries on the announced DDR4 3200 RAM and socket LGA 1159 socket.

The prices also seem way too low. We do not see at all Intel and break the price: admittedly the founder is increasingly competing with AMD , but remains largely number 1 on the market and enjoys a better brand image among the general public. There is no need to offer components at such a price-quality ratio. In short, on the issue of tariffs, all this seems to be too good to be true.
